Notecards to make

I love to make cards that are in fun colors...such as the bright pink and green combination to the left.  I used a very simple Sizzix flower die cut, buttons for the middle, a bit of ribbon and the paper adds to the card itself.  The hardest part of the cards themselves is coming up with the ideas.  In this example, I made a simple notecard, to be able to customize the inside of the card by writing a long note if you'd rather!   Fun card to make in different colors, or 4 of the same cards to give to someone as a small token of appreciation!  Easy and cheap to do for gifts, or just because you want to!

In the example to the right, another simple notecard, I used pink and purple Sizzix flower die cuts, and white buttons in the middle of the flowers.  I cut a piece of green paper for the stems of the flowers, and used a heart punch that was cut in half for the leaves on the flowers.  Again, I used patterned paper to create visual interest!    Depending on the patterned paper you want to use, would depend on the colors of flowers you would use, scraps are wonderful to use for projects like this.  Look at any type of fun patterned paper that you can add something simple to for your cards.

With the last card I am showing you, another great example of a simple notecard.  I used punches, buttons and brads to create the flowers, with a heart punch cut in half for the leaves again.  I love how you can use a punch for multiple uses, such as the heart punch in this case.  By adding buttons and brads, this creates a fun look for the card as well.  Plus the papers used create a fun look for anyone who would receive this card!

The cards all shown here were made with leftovers from when I created this layout.....a set of photos of me and my daughter, with the same expressions on our faces at about the same time of our lives.  All of the paper coordinated, and by using a strip across the pages at an angle, makes the layout really pop.  The only other thing I used was eyelets, an epoxy sticker and then stamped letters for the title, painting them with Radiant Pearls and embossed them with clear embossing powder to create the look I captured.  I started with the layout, and made the cards after.

As I am creating my layouts, I have a drawer in my closet that I put my scraps in.  This way, I am able to create my cards or other projects easily, especially if I am working on a particular album or project.  When it is full, and I am done playing with stuff, then I will make sure to put it away!  I have a drawer with one project, the embellishments I am using, things like that.  So when I want to work on that project, then I am able to, and everything is in one place!

I hope you have enjoyed the cards I am sharing this week...  I especially hope you see where making a layout, then making cards with the leftovers is very cost effective!  Enjoy your day, great ideas to follow this week, so make sure to subscribe to us!
