Wow, can you believe Christmas is upon us already...hustling around trying to get the shopping done, food bought, gifts made...and oh, the wrapping of the presents! I hope to make it easier on you, by giving you fun things you can recreate yourself...and tweak for other things!
Our first stop today is tags...creating fun, one of a kind tags for your gifts does not take a long time, or effort...most of the tags I made here were made with extra stuff I had, or a kit I had...nothing more, nothing less.
Directions:
Step one: Using a base of 2.75" x 5", cut the base of each of the tags you want to make.
Step two: Cut a slice in the top 1.5" for the top of the tag, take a hole punch and punch a hole in the top for the ribbon to go through.
Step three: Take paper in the colors you have selected, using a variety of techniques, start to place the paper on the tags. Make sure to use adhesive to glue each of the papers down.
Step four: Using embellishments, stickers, stamps, ribbon, brads, or anything else you have, start to create your tags.
Step five: Cut a strip of white (or light colored paper) to attach to the back of the tag to be able to put the recipients name on it! I would suggest a size of 2.5 x 7 folded in half, with the fold part at the top, but you can do it anyway you want it.
Tip: when creating the tags, keep each of your recipients in mind when making their tags. Is there a special color they like...or did you get a stash of grandmas ribbon or fabric she had...use it along with what you are planning!
Another easy project that you can make quickly and easily is bookmarks... Add one to one of your gift recipients book on their list to be able to keep track of the page they are on easier!
When I make bookmarks, I usually use scraps of what I have been working on to create the perfect bookmark. A lot of times you have just a little bit of a certain paper left over, use it along with other items such as punches and buttons to create a truly one of a kind bookmark!
Step one: Cut your base 2 1/4" x 5.5", (optional) punch a hole in the top to put a tassel through.
Step two: Using scraps of color to match the base (or match the paper you have selected) start to find colors that look good together to create your bookmarks with.
Step three: Using punches that are in different shapes, add the punch shapes to the paper and base of the bookmark.
Step four: Add the ribbon and floss to the hole punch to create the tassel at the end.
More ideas to follow this week, from easy mini albums to how to showcase your Christmas pages this year! This is a season to be Thankful and Grateful for what you have...in these hard economical times...learn to make a bit of the things that will save you a bit of money instead of spending a bunch of money on things people will just throw away. There is something about an item that is given to you that is made out of something one of your loved ones owned. Have a great night, see you all tomorrow!
