I love making cards, but I especially love making them out of scraps from other projects I have done. Both of these cards were made with one stamp - a Stampin' Up stamp, and then different colors of ink to match! Using scraps helps so you can save money - by using one stamp various ways, and then scraps of paper each card you make can end up saving you money in the long run!
With the above card, I used one stamp, a simple card base, with the border at the top. I added a simple bow to the top - and then buttons around the bottom to match the circles from the top area! The saying is embossed in white powder! For the card to the side, it started with the base, and then a simple green image embossed in clear powder! I finished it up with a simple bow and button to the side of the creation! This type of card can be made in any versatile type of paper and can be made ahead of time! Cards like this are great to make up as you go and as you have the supplies out - putting the base away for use when you need it! Look at the types of cards you send out, and make a bunch up this week!
Now for the challenge part - if you don't save your scraps, I will challenge you to find a good system and start to save them. I use a simple file folder by color system, kept in an accordion style holder. If you keep scraps already, then I challenge you to look at what you have and make one thing with your scraps and what you have at home! If you love to read books, make a bookmark - or, make a birthday card for an upcoming birthday! I hope you start to enjoy scraps as much as I love to use them - and make sure you share what you have made!
