I started this blog back at the end of 2009 - but started to really get it going on 3/16/2010 which I consider my blogaversary since I have posted most every day since! Memories in Tyme started as a way to help people learn how to make their own style of handmade cards and scrapbooks...and a few gifts along the way! I really didn't know what I was doing - all I knew is I liked to create and share what I made!
Over the course of the past 3 years, my visions for Memories have went from one thing to much more! Scrapbooking is very therapeutic taking pictures, paper and embellishment along with the written word to create a story about your life. Not only do I like to paper scrapbook, but I also like to digital scrapbook as well...there is nothing better than finding the perfect picture - having the inspiration for something, and then getting something done quickly on the computer, no mess to clean up afterwards. Scrapbooking is not hard at all - it's fun, a great way to spend time with friends and family to get your family memories down on paper. I look at a fun project I am working on right now, of my grandma's recipe's in her own handwriting being presented in a book format for my children and my cousins. Out of any of my projects I have worked on - this is truly a work of the heart!
I love making cards - that is where I started out at anyway. So, your challenge is to look at the cards you like to give away...birthday's, thank you card's, thinking of you, or even notecards...and make plans to get the supplies you need and start to make a few cards! The above anniversary card can be recreated in any colors...a simple wedding cake stamp was the only accent used, along with a computer saying and a bow at the top. Start to make a few cards to put away for use later on. Try to use leftovers, or to NOT spend money - other than for the card bases/envelopes! Make sure to share with me some of the cards you end up creating - I've been busy lately making a ton of GREAT cards!
