Using your stamping supplies with your scrapbook layouts and your scrapbook supplies on your cards will help to save you money. Check out your favorite craft stores, such as Michaels and Hobby Lobby (in my area) for things like card packs, as well as your favorite papers and supplies! When you make the next birthday layout of one of your kids, make a few cards or a framed page even to be able to give later on when you need to! Grab a simple 12 x 12 frame when they are on sale, and you instantly have a gift ready to go! If you know someone is having a birthday coming up, you can always make it earlier and just put it away for when you do need it!
Scrapbooking is overwhelming enough - you have how many years worth of photos you need to scrapbook, the more in your past you end up going, the worse it will be to remember events and things you are working on. For the current day's photos you are taking, make sure you journal a bit about the event. This way, you can add what you have wrote to your layout later on! Grab a file folder, and put your photos in, with the notes from the event or day - this will be the place you add everything to for your creation!
I love the fact scrapbooking helped to keep me alive, all by the words I wrote and the photos I used. It's a cheap therapy tool - it's a fun way to spend time with friends and family, and a wonderful way to preserve memories you want to! Take the time to learn - get your memories down on paper!
