Homemade Christmas Gift Blog Hop

**Please note, there are two hops today - if you are here for the  Christmas Card & Cookies Blog Hop, see the post below.**

Merry Christmas and Welcome to the Homemade Christmas Gift Blog Hop. Today we have 9 fabulous crafters who are going to share some of their ideas for Homemade Christmas gifts. What is better than making something personalized for someone you love.  So sit back and enjoy.  And make sure you come back to see what theyā€™ve created on both days.

I like to make presents that people can put up and have around all year long, not just at Christmas time.  For my idea today, I am sharing an altered photo matt, in which you can do with any kind of theme or colors you have available to you! I didn't want to put it in a frame, so I added the flowers and leaves to the bottom of the creation with the ribbon at the top to hang it with.

You have 3 spaces for different photos, and the brown ribbon to hang it up.    I used the same flower creation used at the bottom of the matt in the middle of the top row to draw your eyes upwards!  The photos I am using are some of my mothers yard and my dad outside mowing the lawn when we were in our teens!  Dad was always taking care of the yard work with my mom making sure all the weeds were out of the garden...but the work they did together made it look awesome!  This is an easy present you can recreate using any kind of photos you have, and embellishments!
I hope you enjoy this project - make sure to check back tomorrow for the next "homemade gift" you can recreate!  I am planning on making 3 more of these with my husband's grandkids' names in them, with a special place for  photo's in there!!!!  You will have to check back to see the idea here - I am working on them now!
Thank you for visiting the hop - now make sure you go to Ashley's blog next, and make sure you check back tomorrow for another GREAT day!!

  3. I love this idea Linda! I would love to know more about how you did this. I like to make picture collages for my in-laws and grandmother, but I always buy the frames with lots of openings - I love the idea of making my own mat that I can put in any frame! Thanks for sharing this!
