For Christmas presents - I like to do things that are easy to recreate and can be used by those that I make them for! This project is no different and can be made in plenty of different themes and colors for your gift recipients to get! Make a quick bookmark to match the project and you instantly have something for a tween, a teen, or anyone who just needs to have a place to collect their thoughts!
For this type of present - you need the following:
Altered composition notebook
2 sheets 12 x 12 cardstock
2 sheets white (or coordinating cardstock) in 8.5 x 11
Ribbon and buttons
Die cuts
Bookmark shape
Directions:
Step one: Decide what papers and colors you will be using for the project, gather them - making sure the colors you are choosing coordinate and match well together.
Step two: Cut one of the sheets of paper in half to create 2 6 x 12 sheets of paper. This will go on the front and back cover. For the 2nd sheet of paper, also cut in half and this will go for the spine.
Step three: Start with the spine, add one of the sheets of 6 x 12 paper to the spine of the book. Next add the paper to the front and back to cover each of them. Leaving a bit of extra paper from the front, spine and back covers, fold them so they can be glued to the inside covers.
Step four: For the front cover, if you are going to add any kind of ribbon to the top, you will want to add it now, before you add the cardstock to the underside of the notebook. Make sure to use good adhesive such as a glue gun!!!
Step five: Take the 2 sheets of 8.5 x 11 paper, and glue to the inside cover (trimming if necessary), and again to the back cover.
Step six: For the final touch, finish decorating the front of the notebook as you would want to - with buttons, rub-on's, alphabet stickers, or whatever you would want to!
Now, next up on this hop is Mindy so go to see what she has for this fun hop. Make sure you check back each day as this is the 12 Days of Christmas Blog hop, so we will have idea's every day!
**For my "blog candy"...one lucky winner will receive a 20 page Christmas album that will be showcased during this blog hop at the very last few days. If you are unable to add the pictures to the album yourself, I will have you send me the pictures you want, and I will add it for you! The file will go to you for you to print out on Shutterfly!!! The retail value is $150 - the file yours to do what you want to with it! Now make sure you:
