For some people like neighbors, acquaintances, or work friends even - you might want to make a set of notecards and add a bit of raffia to attach the cards together.  By making a set such as these, your gift recipients are able to use them instead of spending money on cards!  Add a few stamps or even a nice pen to go with it, and you have a cheap gift that can be customized to just about anyone on your list.  I know for me - my sister loves to receive this type of gift - especially since she sends out a lot of cards!
