Valentines Day album idea

He said/she said...with Valentines day coming up, what a great idea to make an album for you and your husband with various things in it.  This album was quite a bit of fun to make, now I can't wait to finish up the album with the journaling!  I included a picture of me and Del, and the rest is going to be journaling..."he said/she said" all the way!  Supplies needed:   12 x 12 paper/cardstock, cut in 4 sheets 6 x 6 size Paper to match for journaling and matting photos Alphabet for the title page Stickers in heart related theme Each set of two pages are different...I used the sticker sheet I had selected to go with the papers I used, and added a simple rub on alphabet for each set of pages I want to write about.  I chose topics that were things I wanted to document where my husband and I are concerned...I have broke my wrist, he has not...We both have a huge artistic ability...I have been to 3 schools, no college up until 2 years ago, Del has had a few school...

Things I want to do album idea

Making scrapbook projects doesn't have to take an album, there are times, where you might want to make a smaller project such as this mini album!  Things I want to do in life....heal from a bad childhood and past, go camping again, read lots of books, have my own scrapbook room, and spend time with my family.  Little things in life that mean a lot to me as a person but needing to be put down on paper for future generations.  Sometimes it isn't the birthdays you scrap, but the moments or feelings instead!  One thing I did not do in this album was to put the date down...please at least put the year you did it, even if it is on the last page in the corner!      When I started the mini album, I took a half sheet of 12 x 12 paper and folded it in half to create the front and back covers, such as the picture above, and here.  One thing about the back, it is plain, the only thing included is my name stamp and the designed by stamp I use on the backs o...

Monthly event planner

Everyone has them, monthly events to keep track of, things like birthdays and anniversaries...  Once you are older and start to have a family of your own, how do you keep track of the events YOU have?  Here is one idea, made out of recycled file folders, one for each month!  Each of the pages are in different colors, with 2 holes punches to allow ribbon through it, or whatever you can find that would work good.   On the back of each page, is a blank page, in order to allow for names and dates for that month.  For the file folders, I cut those straight in half in order to create 2 months out of each folder.  This way, I can create my cards early, and place them in the month I need to for use later on.  So, lets get started with the supplies and directions of this fun little project!   Supplies needed:   6 file folders cut in half and the top part cut off as well 12 sheets of paper, coordinating colors 6 sheets of 8.5 x 11 cards...

More special events!

It's all about special events the past few days here at Memories in Tyme, showcasing birthday cards, and ways to keep track of the dates in your life that you need to keep track of each month!  Now we are going to showcase Anniversary cards!  Things are hard enough as it is, without having to rush out at the last minute to pick up a card and gift for that special someone in your life.  If you spend time once a month looking at the things you have coming up, then it  won't be so hard on you when the actual event comes around!   Anniversaries are always fun, when you celebrate that special day with your spouse and loved ones.  It isn't always easy to come up with unique ideas for your cards though, look at things others have done, as well as ideas in scrapbooks.  Maybe it's your own anniversary, or your parents'...chances are you want the card to be special to that person especially if you are spending the time to make one in the first place!  Ha...

Special Events

Birthdays are events that come once a year for each of us. Whatever you choose to do for your friends and family for their birthdays, making a handmade card for them is not only fun, but also nice for the person to receive.   One of my resolutions this year, is to make sure everyone that is special to me, receives a handmade card from me for their birthday.   That means, I need to make sure I am working hard to accomplish that by making sure I am organized each month.   In the past few days, I started giving you ways to keep track of special events .  I have other ideas that I am sharing with you in the next few days, so make sure to check often for fun ideas this week on anniversary card ideas, as well as other ways to organize the dates in your life!   If you are like me, you can tweak my original idea and create something of your own!  Have fun with it, and make sure you share with me what YOU decide to do!  Working on another post for yet anothe...

Ways to keep track of special events

Remembering your friends and family members' special dates can be tough, especially if you are married, blending kids, or just have a huge family to keep track of!  My husband wanted something so that he would know what event was coming up such as birthdays and anniversaries, so this is what came out of what he wanted.   Together, we have 8 kids...so between each kid, their spouse, grandkids, each of our parents, siblings, their spouses, and all of our nieces and nephews...well, you get the picture, keeping track of dates are hard to do, especially when you have other things going on in your life!  When I first started to create this, I had certain guidelines to go by...it needed to be hung up on the fridge and easy enough for Del to see the dates.  This particular one was made quite a few years ago, before the birth of more grandkids, so I will be showing you a new version I am doing within a few days!  There will also be yet another totally different way I a...

Favorite color challenge

Colors... this layout was done in my favorite colors, using the Sizzix circle die cut for the circles and tags.  I used various shades of pink from the Bazzil Basics paper to create the layout, as well as brown Bazzil cardstock with a bit of patterned paper in browns for an accent color.  For the title, I selected a rub on title that was "me"...and what I wanted the layout to portray.  I used just one picture which I really liked how I looked at the time, and used it to put little blurbs about myself on.   I used the brown as an accent color, with it as the main color for the background paper, as a little color on the buttons that I used on the frame, and as the striped brown paper under the picture!  I normally don't do this type of page, but for me, it was fun to put down in words some things that make up who  I am!   For the framed picture on the right, I used two circles with  smiley faces drawn on them.      Under the frown si...

Challenge

I finished up a wonderful 12 x 12 page that I am planning on framing, of a set of scriptures that I really like.  Your challenge is to find a quote, scripture, song, or poem in which you really like the words on.  Either write the words out nicely in your own handwriting, or type it up and print it out on cardstock.  You can change it as often as you want, just get a frame that will match the decor in the room that you are putting it in.  I placed mine on top of my computer desk so I can read the set of scriptures easily.  I am not a "religious" person, but I do read scriptures!  There are a few that I really can relate to.    In the next few days, I will be sharing with you what I have created...a beautiful page that I can frame!  Tweak for gifts coming up, Valentines Day, or your Anniversary!  Lynda Jeffs Memories in Tyme

Challenge Reminders

I hear it all the time, "I don't have time to scrapbook".  Ok, if you don't have time to do just two pages a month, add a few photos and journalling to it, then you really are a busy person.  Scrapbooking is not hard, and it is a great way to really showcase your memories.  I understand people have a life, you might not be into this craft as I am...but, I will tell you even just doing this basic album will help you to showcase your memories.  To get started, make sure you check out this original post on the monthly challenge.   You just need an album (your choice of size, mine is 12 x 12 to allow more than enough room for everything)...papers and embellishments to match.  A full list is included in the original post, so make sure you check it out.  Each month all you need to do is 2 pages, the title page, and side 2 page to match.  Throughout the month, journal specifics about things that happened that you want to showcase...anything that ...

Album Challenge

Scrapbooking doesn't have to be all about birthdays and holidays, you can do albums about other things too such as a traumatic time in your life.  Mine was a time line, wanting to showcase the drama end of things in a simple time line, and then how I got out of the funk through the pictures and journaling I used.  My problems stemmed from not having enough of a support system to be able to deal with said "problems" in the first place, so scrapbooking was used as a therapy tool, only it wasn't something I knew until much, much later.  As I was planning this album, I had an old planner which I wanted to use, you might recognize this one from 2000.  I used the planner the entire year, planning out things, and keeping track of other things like you do every planner.  It was a time in my life where I needed it, and now am glad that I did keep track of certain things!  I loved the colors in the pages itself, so I wanted to use...
