Being grateful - Oprah's lessons.....

Who hasn't sat down and watched Oprah - every afternoon at 4pm.  Watching her wisdom, what others have been through...the good, the bad and the ugly of life itself.  Today marked the end of an era - 25 years worth of her...  I remember going through one of the worse times in my life - and watching her show one day; she said "In order to HEAL you have to FEEL".....and I sure had to feel my way through, let me tell you!  But it was those words that helped me to GET THROUGH...
Today's message - I AM IN CONTROL OF MY OWN DESTINY by my thoughts and my actions.  If I think negative thoughts or do bad things - I will attract negativity in my life.  If I do good deeds and think good thoughts, I will attract goodness in my life.  It isn't up to anyone else to make me happy, or make my life complete - I am complete because of ME and those that help me to be ME, not anything else.
The last thing I learned from her - especially today...and your challenge for June - is to to start to do a Gratitude Journal or Album!  I want you to find the perfect album for this project, or...for a cheap idea (and what I am going to do) grab a composition notebook, and start to write things down in it.  You need to be grateful for what you do have, not stressed out because you don't...I know that was my main lesson for the day!
I hope you enjoy this challenge - I know for me...I need this!  Being grateful doesn't take a lot...you just need to look past the CRAP and look for the good!   Share with me what YOU decide to do for your project!

  1. Hi Lynda, Thanks for stopping buy my blog and becoming a follower. Your idea of a gratitude journal is great. I started something similar in Jan. I called it my memory art journal. I made a altered cover from cardboard to hold the pages. Each month I would write down my thoughts good and bad, I would do my complaining on the paper and get everything off my chest that way. At the end of the month I folded up that paper and put it in an envelope I got from my junk mail and seal it closed. I then decorated the envelope with paints, fabric, papers etc. Now all the negative thoughts and feelings are sealed away. I have the cover of the journal on my blog archived in Jan 2011 along with Jan's envelope Feb in Feb etc. If you want to take a look.
