Supplies:
Red checkered paper - 1 sheet
Black cardstock - 2 sheets
Red cardstock - 2 sheets
White cardstock - 1 sheet
Alpha stickers
Various punches -
Circle (different sizes)
Sun (small size)
Scraps of paper for the hamburgers
Scraps of shiny black cardstock for the bbq's and utensils
Black fine tip marker to create the seeds on the buns
Directions:
Step one: Trim 2 - 2" strips to go down the side of the paper. Trim 2 - 1.75" strips to go on top of that. Trim 6 - 2" squares to go on top of that. Put together using your favorite adhesive product. For the right side - add the 3 alpha stickers to create the title. Place each of the two borders on top of the respective page. For the left side - will be finished up at a later step.
Step two: Create the squares for each of the pages - start with a 2" strip of red, adding another strip of the red checkered paper on top. Cut the strips every 2" to create 4 squares. Add adhesive and set aside for one of the next steps.
Step three: Add places for your photos - I used a red matted with white cardstock - putting a photo on top. You could always use an accordion type of things where the white is to allow for more photos to be used. After using the adhesive to glue the cardstock together, put aside on the right page.
Step four: Starting to create the hamburgers - grab the scraps of paper you have chosen, cut 16 buns in a cream color, 8 hamburgers, 8 red tomato's, and 8 pieces of lettuce. The bun and burgers are with a smaller circle punch, the tomato is an even smaller circle punch, and the lettuce is a sun punch. Using your adhesive of choice, start to create the "hamburger", adding a bit of dots at the top of the bun for the seeds. Add those to the squares, putting 2 on each square.
Step five: Using the example above on the left side of the layout - start to create the BBQ and utensil. Cut 2 circles in a small size, and 6 mini circles. Trim 6 legs, adding each of the small mini circles to the bottom. Cut the larger circle in half, then placing it on top of the other so that it looks like the top is opening up. Add a simple shape to the top of the BBQ to "open" up the lid. For the utensil, I used black cardstock, with white for the "flip" part. For the most part, I didn't use a pattern, I "eyeballed" it.
Step six: Put it all together using adhesive of your choice.
I hope you enjoy this layout, and share with me what you were inspired to do!
