Favorite things.....(and NO, I"m not talking about Oprah's favorite things...)we all have things that are a "few of our favorite things", but have you documented them? Or,instead twist things up...do a favorite things layout for each of your kids, or your favorite things each year....you get the idea! I know if I were to do a "favorites" layout today, I would more than likely do a mini album instead, to be able to document a lot of different things! Since this was done for my All About Me album, the plan was a bit different from the beginning! In this layout, I decided to use my favorite color as the basis of the layout, accented with white and a bit of silver in the tags.
Supplies needed:
Cardstock
3 base sheets
3 patterned sheets (can be the same pattern or different)
3 white sheets
1 silver sheet (or use silver tags if you have those)
Circle punches different sizes (I also used the Sizzix circle die cut)
Alphabet template
Black fine tip marker
Scissors
Trimmer
Small hand held punch
Directions:
Step one: Start to make a list as to what your favorite's are, look at photos you need to take/find, and decide on colors for the layouts.
Step two: After you have gathered your supplies, put the base sheets aside, as a place to put each step after you have completed them.
Step three: Using the trimmer, trim a 2" white piece for the borders. Using your alpabet template that you have chosen, create your title using the patterned paper first, with the base color as the base color such as the selection. Add to the base using adhesive.... **Tip** If you are using paper that can turn what you have made into a sticker, then grab a steel ruler to put your title on (just a sliver of the sticker, leaving the rest to hang out) the way you want it to look on your page. This way you know if you have enough room, or if you need to fix things.
Step four: Matt the photos first in the patterned paper and then in white cardstock. Set the matted photos aside.
Step five: Using the circle punches/die cuts you have selected, make your tags from the silver paper and white cardstock. Or, if you have tags use them...I used one tag for each photo and a few extra to add other words on. Using the marker, add the words to the tags.
Step six: Start to put the layout together using the adhesive of your choice. For the tags, I put them together using eyelets (or brads), but did not use any adhesive to allow the tags the opportunity to move. Add the borders, as the examples show, first; photos next, with the tags last.
Most of the time I show you what I do, isn't for you to recreate...it's for you to take a piece of it and do...the title, or the way the title is... I realize that there are a lot of "different" supplies out there on the market today! Utilize what YOU have available to you, don't just look at what I do!

The photos are all things that are my "favorites"...my daughter's blessing dress that my mom made, my Cherished Teddies, my cat Tygress...you get the idea! With the photos you ultimately use, don't be afraid to use some that you used in other layouts, you might have different memories for the pictures you selected, such as my daughters dress!!
