As I was going through a really stressful time in my life, scrapbooking was used as a therapy tool...only it was something I never understood until later on in life. Since I stamped before I scrapbooked, I had a lot of "things" to use with both crafts...once I organized it all anyway!!! In this layout, I used a basic heart background stamp and a colored ink pad in a darker shade as the main color I was using. The stamp then can be used in something totally different such as a card, or on an envelope as a cute accent! Stamps are very versatile, take a look at the card example - one background stamp in white for the background, with another one for the saying. The inside of the card allows you to customize it to the person receiving it...plus you can change the colors for a girl, or generic if you have no idea what the baby is going to be. Using stamps as backgrounds is great, especially if you can't find the right theme for what you are working on...or you need to save a bit of money on this craft! I was glad I had a bunch of stuff already...especially when I had to cut back after my husband was taken out of work due to a disability! I've lived this "economy" and know how hard it is to have fun doing crafts if you don't have a lot of money! The cost of a stamp set goes down each time you use it, that is why I suggest picking out the one's you will use often and different ways!
You can learn a lot of fun techniques to go with your stamping...start easy and work your way up! Find good stamp pads that is acid free so they can be used for stamping as well. Have fun!
