Making cards can be really fun to make, creating that perfect handmade card for your favorite friends and family. I started out making cards back about 20 years ago when my daughter was just a baby. My first card that I made was a baby announcement out of a Disney Stamp...an instand love was formed.
If you already scrapbook, you have more than enough supplies available to you, simply add a few rubber stamps and ink pads and you are good to go! Create cards when you have a specific event, such as a birthday.
In this example, I used patterned paper, a punch/brad, paper, stamp/ink pad, and a ribbon bow with a button. The saying was
embossed, though you do not need to do this, it just makes the white of the saying pop out more, making it easier to read. Adding a simple bow and flowers for embellishments complete the look.
In this example, 1 stamp was used along with die cuts or shapes cut out to represent presents. I added a simple bow punch and thin trimmed cardstock to match. I then stamped the saying at the top of the card in black...added a simple ribbon bow and button to it and was done.
Very simple card, easy to recreate in different colors and papers. Cards can be done in very little time and with little effort too!
In this example, I used a Sizzix die cut for the balloons, you can use any type of balloons for this part! I then took a bit of floss that was funky looking to use for the tails below the balloons, helping to make it look as authentic as I could. I added a bit of patterned paper left over from another project, a simple stamped birthday image, and a bow for the bottom of the tails to finish it all up.
Cards are actually a great way to use up the scraps you have...and if you are already working on a birthday layout, and you know that you have a few birthdays coming up, create a few with the fun stuff you have left over and out! Enjoy these ideas, and make sure you share your creations with me!
