All About Me albums are without a doubt, the funnest albums you can make...because it's all about YOU! Used for therapy reasons, you will discover that you are truly a normal person, and though you may have things that you are trying to deal with..you can see at the end of it all how things REALLY are! Plus it is a way to use up all of the supplies you have bought, but had no idea what you were going to do with them...
When making this layout, it was created with an All About Me challenge on a message board that is no longer around. I had been creating my album for a while and loved this challenge. I used what I had available to me at the time: cardstock/paper, ink/stamps, Colluzzle alphabet system, and eyelets. I used my Sizzix machine to create the tags; you can either find a template, cut your own, or use a die cut system to create them. I used words to describe me using each of the letters in my name to finish off the layout!
In this layout, though a bit more advanced techniques, can be tweaked using different items. Instead of eyelets, use brads... I used the colluzzle alphabet system...if you have a Cricut machine, use it, or some of the alphabet stickers you have. I used my first and middle name...try using just your first name if it is long, or just about anything - get creative! I also used a stamp for the background in the same color scheme to create a bit of a pop on the pages! If you don't have a stamp, then use patterned paper, in a kit you might have instead!
The best part about scrapbooking is taking the ideas you find and tweaking them to be your own. I know for me, I enjoy getting ideas and then doing something totally different with it...whether I take the idea itself, or the page layout...at times I use different aspects of the same page in different ideas. It just depends on the idea itself, and what is happening in my life, or the mood I am in that day.
Step one: Decide the colors and papers you want to use, gather them up. Do not hesitate to tweak, depending on what you have at home!
Step two: Gather the photos you want to use to go with your name layout. Mat them using coordinating cardstock or paper.
Step three: If you are using ink and stamps, create your background. If you are using patterned paper, this replaces that item!
Step four: Create your border background for each side. Determine what you are using and start to put that together on your border. I used the Coluzzle Alphabet system and eyelets, you can use a simple template and brads to create the same type of look for cheap!
Step five: Create your tags, using words to describe you...add them to each "letter". I had 2 "A's" in my name, so I used different words on each of the tags.
Step six: Put it all together, using the borders on the right side for the left page, and the left side for the right page. Add photos to it, and you are done!
This is a simple layout, depending on the embellishments you use. If you do not want to use tags, use a journaling square instead...or hidden journaling for some aspects! Tweak this idea...use it for your childrens names, or you and your mates names describing each of you! There are many things you can do to this simple idea! Share with me what you end up creating!
