Digital Scrapbooking or Paper Scrapbooking

Vertical Paper Bag Album
How many of you digital scrapbook as well as paper scrapbook?  I do both - and love both of them for different reasons!  There is nothing better than picking up the papers you are working on - along with the photo's...and creating an album in which you have in your hands - something you have made!  This is one of my vertical paper bag albums I have created - A to Z about Lynda!  The only thing I need to do now is add my photos and journaling as I go, completing it as I have the time! This was one of the funnest albums I have made yet, and can't wait to get the other 3 finished I now have ready to go!

Created with Serif Craft Artist software

On the other hand, it is really great to go to an event, or take pictures for whatever reason, and then go home to create a layout, without the worries of having to go shopping for papers and embellishments!   All you need to do is have the software and kits installed on your computer to get things done quickly!  Another great aspect of digital scrapbooking, your journaling is more current and fresh, since the event or reason for the picture was within days - not months!!!  For me - I like to create a layout based on the things I have been reflecting on - or thinking about...finding the perfect picture/pictures to match as I have the thought in my head.
Another great aspect I like about digital scrapbooking - if something is not quite working out - or looking right...I can change the background papers, or the embellishments - or the frame - or the journaling...without much trouble, therefore being able to create the perfect layout or project each time!   With paper scrapbooking, you can't change things as easily...
So, I do both - for different reasons!!!  I will also watch Shutterfly.com for their specials to print photos for free, all you pay is shipping and handling!  I recommend them a bunch! I have printed out photos to use for traditional paper scrapbooking, as well as created a digital scrapbook album that I made into a book about our journey through 2012 and 2013 until my husband and son graduated!  Both are fun!
Digital or paper - the choice is up to you!  Starting next week I will give you tips to be able to digital scrapbook for cheap!  I use 2 different sets of software...and will give you my thoughts about both, as well as ways to get FREE page kits for you to play with and use!
Thanks for stopping by,
