Spring Blog Hop - Day 1

Memories In Tyme Blog Hop

Welcome to Memories in Tyme Blog Hop - where you will find all things relating to Spring!  This is my favorite time of year - the leaves are starting to come out - we've all been hibernating all winter in the cold...so now it's time to do some fun Spring projects!!!  You will be sure to find layouts, cards, decor and more with these seriously talented ladies...

Since you are at the beginning, lets get started with my project!!!

I started out making cards oh so long ago...I love going back to my beginnings and see what I can do with cards in today's market instead of 20 years ago!  My skills have taken off, and it doesn't take me too much time to make a fun card!  So, this weekend I am sharing some brand new Spring related cards you can make for anyone!

This card turned out so cute...and very simple too!  I love combining stamps with other type of things in order to make something that is truly one of a kind.  Both of these cards are made with scraps and extras!  With this card, I started with the orange in the background, but wanted a bit of "color" to it.  So, I used my color wheel to choose the perfect colors, and ended up with blue for the most part and a bit of green!   I started with the pot, stamping it and then embossing it. I also used Radiant Pearls Paint (no longer available - so figure what you might have for this) and colored in my image in a white, with the blue in the middle.  I took a scrap of green paper for the stems, and them used flower from other projects - with green brads in the middle.  The hardest part of this card was stamping and embossing the pot!!!

With the butterfly card - again I used scraps to complete it - and two large brads (also left over from another project) at the top. I used the butterflies as the only other embellishment, and kept it simple - not only in the colors but in the look and feel to the card!  Cards like this are great to make and give to teachers for the end of the school year - or someone who has done something nice for you as a way to say "thank you".

  1. What a pretty card to use for any occasion! The jar is the best part!!!Interesting use of color...I must dig out my color wheel so I can think outside of the "jar" as well. Thanks for hosting this Spring hop, it's always an honor to be part of such a fabulous group of crafters!
