Walgreen's Pharmacy

How many of us have shopped at Walgreens - watching for the Sunday Ad to come out to see the coupons they have and the great specials - I know I do, especially right now trying to get ready for Valentines Day on a budget...  I love saving money, especially at their Pharmacy!  

Recently,Walgreens and Express Script went into negotiations to bring everyone medicine at a discount.  Those negotiations went bad, and ultimately Walgreens is now without the Express Scripts Program.   The fact that Walgreens has a 24 hour Pharmacy open for people who need medicine in the middle of the night - or happen to get sick and really need medicine for is actually a good thing in which Express Scripts could care less about - however, we as buyers DO CARE ABOUT THIS.   Express Scripts wanted to be in total control of the pricing and contract with Walgreens, they did not -  now Express Scripts customers will be ultimately paying more for their medicine because of them not working with Walgreens.  Working for Dish Network, I have watched negotiations like this falter due to people becoming greedy when it comes to the money they are receiving for a product they are selling.  

So, if your prescriptions are in Walgreens, and you have Express Scripts as your carrier, you will want to go into your local Walgreens to see what this will do to effect you personally.  What they have come up with to help people - and this is awesome for me not having prescription benefits- they are having a special this month for their Walgreens Prescription Savings Club!  For a price of $5 individual, or $10 for a family - (and this price is ANNUAL) you can get more than 800 regular and generic prescriptions available  through them for a huge savings, plus the generics you can get for $4 a month - which is only $1 a week for them.  Normal prices are $20 for individual and $35 for a family, so look at the savings here alone!   

To me, it's all about the savings Walgreens gives you - where Express Scripts are just being GREEDY - and wanting to cut out those that actually take care of you.  Walgreens has trained professionals in which are right in front of you - to look at the other drugs you are taking - they make sure you are feeling well, and not having drug interactions from other drugs you are taking.  They are friendly - and they keep jobs right in our own community.  If you are affected by Express Scripts not negotiating with Walgreens - to bring your medicine to you cheaper, you do have another option - and with the savings plan they offer, you can still save money with your favorite Walgreens!  Make sure to follow Walgreens on Twitter and Walgreens on Facebook too to check out their specials, grab coupons or just ask them questions if you need to!   Thank you for checking this post out - I thought it was important enough to make sure to talk about it here!  Have a great day - and besides...with all the money you can save with this - more money to spend on scrapbook supplies for sure!!!
