Cash, Money, Life... (off topic)

My husband and I are rebuilding our lives, buying a home this year - and really spending time getting our life going better.  Oh it's been going better for sure, but we still have a long way to go before we are actually where we want to be - due to the Hurricane situation we have been dealing with.  I then found a web site that is helping me in different capacities in our rebuild process which is  CashMoneyLife.com  - the subtitle, Personal Finance and Career!        With this site, instantly the first thing I was hit with is Linked In - and helping me to connect with people that I otherwise wouldn't be able to.  Now, I'm in Linked In, but I never thought about it helping to take my business to the next level - that's for sure!  I really looked more at this first article in hopes it would be able to help me to really look at my profile and things more in relation to my career and business.       ...

Using nail polish as a source for inspiration - then paint your nails when you are done!

Ok, I get that this is a scrapbook blog - but I stumbled up a web site  Julep.com  as I was checking out some nail polish and I really liked it for a ton of different reasons, so I thought I would share with you guys!  I especially liked their Style Profile, which helped to define who I am in their eyes which is a Classic with a twist (might help you in scrapbooking too).  I like beautiful yet simple cuts and colors, and am effortlessly elegant (boy do I not feel like that) using sophisticated hues, leather accessories, and nice fabrics.  As I looked more on their site, I found Julep Maven, which is a wonderful program they offer customers for $19.99 a month.        The products they send you will be the latest in manicure and pedicure products, to give yourself (or your friends/family members) a wonderful set of products that are beautiful to use.  Every month, you get an email showing you what products they have av...

Walgreen's Pharmacy

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark . All opinions are 100% mine. How many of us have shopped at Walgreens - watching for the Sunday Ad to come out to see the coupons they have and the great specials - I know I do, especially right now trying to get ready for Valentines Day on a budget...  I love saving money, especially at their Pharmacy!   Recently, Walgreens and Express Script  went into negotiations to bring everyone medicine at a discount.  Those negotiations went bad, and ultimately Walgreens is now without the Express Scripts Program.   The fact that Walgreens has a 24 hour Pharmacy open for people who need medicine in the middle of the night - or happen to get sick and really need medicine for is actually a good thing in which Express Scripts could care less about - however, we as buyers DO CARE ABOUT THIS.   Express Scripts wanted to be in total control of the pricing and contract with Walgreens, they did n...

In My Daughters Eyes -

If you have followed me - or know much about me, you will know I have not had it easy in life.  It was one thing after another for me - nothing going right in my life.  The song "I n My Daughters Eyes " by Martina McBride - though I am not a "hero" in my daughters eyes, just someone who made mistake upon mistake upon mistake - is one that brought me out of a huge depression and wanting to die.  She has no clue how hard I have worked to just stay alive, and be a part of her life - nor does she understand much of anything about my past causing me to be the person I am today.     With this layout, I wanted the picture to be the focus, not the song.  To save money, I used supplies that I already had around!  I love the peach and green color combination, which was the best for the picture I used.  I matted it on white mulberry paper - fraying the edges as best I could, then matting on the paper.  To make the pages look the sam...

Storage thoughts and ideas - card related

Storage doesn't have to take a ton of money in order to keep your stuff organized and in one place.  For my cards, I use a simple box that used to hold envelopes in - after they are gone, then I can use the box!  I added categories such as Anniversary/Wedding, Baby, Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You, Note-cards and things I use a lot of.  As I am scrapbooking and have paper or things left over from what I am doing, I add the scraps of paper to the categories I have in my box.  This way - if I am working on a birthday card and I don't have one already made, I can make it from the scraps I have!         I like to keep things in one place, instead of all over the place in drawers and things.  As I want to work on something - a birthday card lets say - I grab my box to see what I have available first.  I then look at the stamps I have and the embellishments I have and see what I can put together with what I have. ...
