How are things going for Christmas????

It's the beginning of the month, less than 3 months until Christmas!  What are your plans?  I know for me, I am creating wall hangings, to send to a few of my favorite people to hang up...early December.  I have shared the pieces with you, before...but for those of you who missed it (hate the scan...but you can get the idea)

You can't really see the top of the piece, but when it is finished up, framed and ready to go, I will get a picture and show you the finished piece.  It will be matted, and framed in a wood frame that will match the fireplace!  In the square above the fireplace will be a place for me to customize each household's last name that will be getting the gift.  I made them a few years ago, this year will finish them up and actually get them in the mail to people!

How is YOUR list's going?  For me personally, I am struggling with who and what to send.  But I am different, I particularly do not get along with my family, but more "friends" that have become my family.   Boxes of cards made for each gift recipient...personalized with what they would send out.   I usually have a category of 10 different themes, and make 3 cards for each category.  Add a photo box to put them in, and you are done with that gift.   Cards are easy to make, can be done quickly...make a theme a week for the people you want to give this wonderful gift to.  Lets say you have 5 people on your list, you would need to make 15 cards in one week to finish this gift up.

Christmas cards handmade is another area you can not only save money on, but personalized cards, or framed cards with your photo on them are wonderful additions to your gifts!  Check out designs you are attracted to, and don't worry about purchasing the latest paper that is out there to create your stuff...use up what you have at home, leaving you more money to purchase other things.  I know for my mom this year, I am finishing up an album I started a while ago...Will be sharing it as I get it finished up!  There will be a place for each of my moms kids to put their favorite memories of grandma on!

If you are struggling with "what" to make...get the basic idea on paper.  Even if that is just the persons name and the item you want to do for them...the rest can come as you get more information or ideas.  You have less than 3 months to get stuff rolling, so start to look at exact ideas and things for people...get a calendar going with your paydays, to budget and plan the money up front.  This will make it easier to mail things that need to go out of state.  For me, I have 2 months until I need to have stuff ready to mail things out of state...so I am budgetting and really looking at my list!

Christmas doesn't have to be a huge thing...ļ»æif you are on a budget...don't let Christmas get you down...learn to make things to save money!  Gather your ideas and customize them to each recipient and have fun!   Make sure you share with me what you are making!
