Halloween

Halloween

Halloween, it is totally not my favorite time of the year, but yet this is one of my favorite layouts of my kids....taken 19 years ago!  The layout was made from a kit I bought a long time ago, but I also added a few things to it such as the brads and Halloween sign at the bottom left side.

This spread uses 5 photos, plus with the space the tags fill up, you could use a couple of other photos if you want to!   The kit had the orange paper plus the tags.  I added the photos, the ribbon for the tags, along with the brads and Halloween sign.   Since I was running short on paper, I trimmed the inside of the black paper to use it for matting my photos.  This way, you couldn't tell by the front of the layout, and I saved money by using the paper I did have, instead of running out and buying more.

Basic supplies to complete the layout:
2 sheets black cardstock
2 sheets orange patterned paper
4 tags
2 brads or eyelets in orange or themed
Halloween saying
Ribbon for the brads
Cardstock or paper for matting photos and tags

Directions:
Using the paper you selected for matting, start to matt the photos and tags.  I used colors that matched the tags I had such as white, yellow, black and a bit of green.
Step one:  Cut 3/4" on the top and side of the orange paper to place on top of the black cardstock.
Step two:  Cut the inside of the black cardstock so that the orange will go on top.  This way you can use it for matting on your photos. Glue the orange paper on top of the black cardstock like the example above.
Step three:  Using the paper you selected for matting, start to matt the photos and tags.  I used colors that matched the tags I had such as white, yellow, black and a bit of green, as well as the black from step two.
Step four:   Make a hole at the top of each tag to put the ribbon through.  I used 3 or 4 different types of ribbon for my tassels.
Step five:  Add the tags and photos to your layout, either like the example or your own way that is pleasing to the eye.
Step six:  Using the Halloween saying, a strip of black paper, and the 2 orange brads or eyelets... start by placing the saying through the strip of paper (if you have a saying that goes on ribbon lets say..., if not...just place your saying on the paper) finish up by putting the brads on the side.

This is a fun layout to do, can be done with just about any theme...  Make sure to share with me the things that you make!
