Christmas comes once a year...are you like me, and usually finish projects up the night before...or do you carefully plan each and every project that you make? Each month I will take a bit of time, to help you to spend a bit of time in planning the next months events! I will be right there with you, planning out the events I need to look at and make things for!
The first project I am sharing is one I have shared before...a composition notebook! Notebooks, paired with a coordinating bookmark make a great gift. I made a notebook in Christmas colors, so I could plan things out a bit for Christmas. I put things in there such as my Christmas card list, designs for the cards, what I want to get for who, and sizes/information about each person.
With the notebook, find a book your gift recipient wants...or get a gift certificate to go with the notebook! I use my notebook for planning, or just as a simple journal to keep track of day to day events in your life. Coordinate each notebook in their favorite colors, or patterns...something that might match their room! I use the notebooks I make all of the time, especially for keeping notes and planning things!
For a fun twist, find a smaller book, decorate it to match your kitchen, put a magnet sheet on the back of it, and place it on your fridge for notes...shopping lists...phone numbers...or whatever you need! Add this to a basket full of fun kitchen stuff, or a basket with the meal ingredients in for a unique gift!
Another project you can do for someone is a wall hanging made out of a photo matt! You can take photos of your kids, or photos of you and your mom...decorate the bottom of the matt, and a couple of the places where the photos go, and put the photos you want in the others! Add a ribbon to the top corners so you would be able to hang this on the wall! Make different matts with different photos to match each month, season, or holiday! This was a simple project, and can be done in tons of different themes, colors and designs!
Look at your list this year... Each project that is show will take you less than an hour to complete, even if you are a slower crafter. The hardest part will be picking out the die cuts, papers and embellishments you want to use! Enjoy these projects, and make sure you sign up to get emails sent right to your inbox. The blog look will be changing, I can't wait to reveal the new look! The girl who made the background I am using now, customized a blog background and twitter background for me that is just beautiful! I have a few other projects in mind for her once this one is done!
