This is one of those layouts that can be recreated with different themes and different colors... depending on what you need. In this layout, I chose photos that show my cat's personality, as you can tell she is Miss Priss around this house! You could change this by using the same title and colors, just put girl photos in!
You can also change both the title and colors, just use blues for the colors and change the title to "All Boy" instead! The cardstock I chose for this example is from the Bazill Basics company. They have 5 packs that coordinate with each other, making it so that your colors match!
In this example, as easy as it is, I did use a couple of harder techniques. I will give you ideas how to change things for your experience level. On side 1, I used eyelets to hold the ribbon, but you can always use a simple hole punch, placing ribbing through it and glueing down both the top and bottom portion to your cardstock.
For the letters, I used the Coluzzle system, something I would not teach people until they were more advanced. So, to change this, use basic stickers or a template that you have to cut out the letters. Make sure you look for templates that look easy to cut, especially if you like things to be precise.
Supplies needed:
Cardstock in 3 different colors (I used Bazill Cardstock, see link above)
White cardstock scrap in journaling size
Template for the title
Wire for the title
Tag
2 cat die cuts (or die cut to match your photos)
Ribbon
Black journaling marker
Directions:
Step one:
Choose 3 different colors for a two page layout, you will want to decide the color you want to use for your base, as well as the sides. The excess cardstock left over from this step will be used for the photos.
Step two:
Trim the sides of each of the layouts, trimming 2 of each of the 2 colors, one of the colors you will trim by 1", the other will be 3" the length of the page. Place adhesive down, and place on the base page.
Step three:
For the title, place wire around each of the letters, and place them at the top of the layout as in the example. Take ribbon and place a bow around the cat die cut, using adhesive place on the layout with the rest of the title.
Step four:
Take wire left over from the title and wrap around the tag. Place adhesive on the die cut and then place it on the tag.
Step five:
This is all about the journaling, making sure you get the shape for underneath your photo. Using the scrap in large enough size to journal I first used pencil, then I went over the words in black marker erasing the pencil lines if I need to. This is the easiest way to do your journaling!
Step six:
Take the cardstock, matt the photos using at least 1 of the shades if not both if you can.
On one of the photos (your favorite, or the one that pops out at you) use that one for the example on the left side of the layout with the hanging journaling. On the bottom, punch two holes and place ribbon through them to hold the journaling, use adhesive to hold it down on the paper.
I hope you enjoy this layout, feel free to recreate in your own style and colors...and show me your recreations!
