Layouts can be fun to make, adding pictures, a bit of journaling, and your final touches and you are done. This layout does not have a particular theme that I wanted to showcase, I had already completed a few layouts of my son for his birthday, these were of my friend Katie!
Katie worked at United Van Lines with me, we both started working the same day...her in HR, me in billing! We "clicked" so to speak, and a friendship... if only for a moment emerged! This layout was made with scraps in the bottom, cut in small pieces to form a border along the bottom of the spread. The circles are half circles, cut by hand, I did not want it to be exact, instead I wanted the look to be more "off"!
For the title, I simply used buttons, cardstock, ribbon and slides! It was the pictures that I wanted to showcase more than the embellishments! People think they have to spend tons of money on scrapbooking supplies, I say NOT!
Supplies needed:
Cardstock in blue, green, yellow and white
Slides
Black marker
Buttons in above colors
Ribbon
Directions:
Step one: Choose the background you want to use...for my layout I chose mint green.
Step two: Start to mat your photos in white cardstock, and then in light blue.
Step three: Take scraps of carstock and cut them to make the stripes as shown above, mat on white cardstock...leaving a small space in between.
Step four: Take the slides, wrap ribbon around the slides. Take yellow cardstock and mat the first layer, and layer with blue for the second layer. Add the buttons with adhesive such as hot glue. Taking your black marker, add 3 words in the middle of the slides to create your title.
Step five: Take the white cardstock, find a saying and write it out on the cardstock to fit in an area on side one. Make sure to mat it using blue after you have double checked your spelling!
Step six: Take the parts you have completed and finish up the layout!
This layout can be done in any theme and color choices! Use the above colors for a boy page, or pink, purple and orange, or pink, blue-green, and yellow-green! I use a color wheel if I have any kind of questions if a color will match or not!
I hope you have enjoyed this layout! If you recreate, please show it to me! I love to see different people's take on what I have done!
