Life, left side  The other day, I posted this post...  including a challenge for you to create a layout with a quote, poem or saying that you like...  From that challenge, this is the layout spread that I have finished up...    Quote by Jeff Taylor, digital layout spread made with Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 software and page kits.   Life isn't about taking score...who did this, or who didn't do that...  It's not about he said this or she said that's...and it's really not about who was there and who wasn't...  It isn't about how rude you can be to another person, or who is "different" than you are...  A nd it certainly isn't about who can lie the best about things that shouldn't be lied about.     What life IS about... spending time with those you care about, being happy - even if things have went wrong in your life.   It's about standing up for something EVEN IF YOU ARE STANDING ALONE... It's about laughing ...

Monthly event planner It's that time again.....time to look at the upcoming events that you have in your life for the next 6 weeks...   Whether you have birthday's, weddings, showers, or fun summertime events planned, grab your calendar and start to look at what you need to make, purchase, send off, or what have you!        Our economy really stinks right now, I've been living it for a long time... and learned a few things along the journey until now.  Take time to look at what you have going on so you can get started on things early - instead of at the last minute...  Start to look at the calendar for things you need to deal with until the end of August!  This way, you can start getting things you need to - put together in order to get things completed on time!   My main problem in life - (I am so like my mom) - I procrastinate - and pretty soon, what I "wanted" to do - doesn't get done because I didn't spend the time to ge...

      There are many things you can do this year to make this Christmas a good one...just start doing things NOW!  One project I have been working on is my grandma's recipe's...  This album is truly a work from the heart, to be given to my children in a book form for Christmas this year.  As I am done with it - a CD will be sent to my cousins for them to do what they want to with them - whether they make an album themselves, or they can have a book made like mine will be is up to them!   Grandmas recipe album page 3      The software I use is by Daisy Trails called Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 - a product review has been done if you check out this page , just scroll down until you see the title!  They have free kits available, this is all I have used from them...plus you can take a piece from this kit and a piece from that kit and make your own kit!  I would suggest downloading the free software and a few kits to star...

     When you start to move out on your own, get married and have kids, you also have that other persons family to keep track of as well as far as birthdays and anniversaries are concerned.  This is an easy thing you can recreate customizing it to the person you are giving it to!  Pick out their favorite color, or make one that can go in the kitchen with colors and themes that they already have.        As you start to create the item, you will want to have a separate page for each month, or 2 months on each page like January and February on the same page.  This way you can always change that part out if you need to add more people or if you just want it to look differently!        As you start to plan things out - make sure you look at different examples of things that people make.  Take bits and pieces of different things in order to create your own one of a kind item!  I hope you enjoy this project! ...

      If you have followed me for a while, you will know I am all about saving money and doing things cheap...but I can't stand things to "look cheap"...  My husband was taken out of work over 8 years ago, at the time, I lived in Utah - scrapbooking heaven!  I couldn't shop much, I had to do things as cheap as I could...  One gift idea for you to get started on is an altered composition notebook!        If you look at your gift list, you will find a few people that you could make an altered notebook for.  They are great for younger girls to start a journal, or even just for an adult who might be going through a trying time; add a book to it, and a handmade bookmark and you are done.  If you look at the school supply sales right now, you can pick a notebook up for about $.50 each, customize them to each person you are giving the gift to.  For teens, add a gift card to their favorite store hidden in one of the pages! ...

Del's daughter Megan and her family       It all started last week on Facebook...reading a post from a girl I went to school with, to another school mate of ours, Bill Z.  JaNae had commented about his daughter Megan who had just passed away.   Being curious about this beautiful girl who just looked so young, I discovered she was a mom of 2 beautiful kids, one of which was only just a couple of months old if that...and she was a scrapbooker, a wife, a mom of 2...a daughter, a step-daughter, a sister, a step-sister.  Her life was cut way too short...but with this girl, you should see the people who are coming forward to her parents, all telling them they are there for them...and how loved she was...and going to her Facebook wall and posting still, songs, thoughts...talk about a love for a girl!         And then today, my buddy Jeff Taylor, also went to school with - posted the following: As we mature, we learn that even the ...
