This month is Christmas as we all know - that time where we take a ton of pictures for different events going on throughout the month!!! During the month of January we are going to be working on our Christmas layouts (or projects) - this month...doing more research and purchasing of supplies, than making of the layouts or projects! Making layouts is not all that difficult if you already make cards... You use the same supplies - and often times, your stamps can make the cutest one of a kind embellishments, versus purchasing stuff!!! For me, basic cardstock and papers have been the best thing I could have stocked up on, and still keep on using, along with basic supplies like stamps and punches!
Each week you will have a different set of challenges to get you started, links to digital scrapbook software you can try, fun products that I would recommend...and much more! All designed to get everything you want to go with your projects - purchased, photos ready to go, and everything in one place for January!
January's challenges will be geared to helping you get those photos scrapbooked and in a fun album YOU decide is best for you! Each challenge will get you that much closer to where we want to be - a completed album or project with your Christmas pictures all in it! Here are the first weeks challenges to get you started:
- If you don't use a "design sheet" to sketch out your layouts or projects - you might want to find one for this one. Or - what I use is a simple notebook with lined paper so I can keep track of the title, the colors I am using, any type of quotes I want to use, links to web sites I like, embellishment ideas, products I want to pick up for the project - things like that! Start to write out your basic information!
- Look at what you have available right now that you can use for this project. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, then think about using free digital software you can get (links tomorrow, check back) to see if you even like creating in the first place. Start to put everything in one place to make it easier for you.
- Start to look at ideas for layouts and projects on blogs, your favorite manufacturers, or friends' web sites you might have found! Document your favorite's...even if it is just bits and pieces of each project!
See you next week,
