I have had more fun the past 6 months being on the Creative PaperClay Design Team than I have had in a very long time! I have also learned way more than I ever thought I could where this clay is concerned. Today, I will bring you my last post for this term, and hopefully I will be asked to join the team again for the next 6 months! (Hey - I have some awesome clay ornaments for Christmas I want to share with you that I am working on!!!!) So - if you are here just popping in - make sure you go to the Creative PaperClay main blog and check out all of the GREAT projects from the current design team, and those that are wanting to try out for the next team!!!!
For today's post, I have 2 projects to share with you! The first project, is a set of two darling Halloween albums that I have made for my kids! I wanted a fun place for them to keep some of the pictures of when they were younger - and then add more from other years too! Halloween is their favorite holiday - they have a huge costume party for all their neighbors and friends each year! They spend days planning and decorating for the fun event every year, so I wanted to give them something they could simply add a few of their favorite photos from the past few years to what I had already added, and see themselves throughout the years!
Each album both has plenty of pages to add their photos and journaling to! The orange album is my daughter Terra's album, made with a simple black and white bow at the top, the Boo! saying stamped in black across the whole album, and the 3 clay pieces at the top! Casey's album is the black one, with the orange and white ribbon in a more simple fashion, as well as 3 more clay pieces on the cover!
Supplies used for the albums:
Set of 2 mini albums (unknown vendor)
Black, white and orange ribbon
White and black ink
Ghost and skeleton head clay pieces made from Creative PaperClay
Stamps - ghost, skeleton head, Boo! saying and trick or treat saying
White Radiant Pearls paint
Black permanent marker
The albums are a very fun project to make for just about any type of holiday - just tweak a bit depending on the holiday you are creating for and the supplies (including mini albums) you might have available! Check online or your local stores for what you have in your area! Scrapbook templates are also a great thing to use with this clay - depending on the template and project you are working on! The base for this next project (a magnet) was made with a template and Xacto knife to cut out the piece - adding a few select miscellaneous items and you have a one of a kind magnet!
Supplies used for the magnet:
Creative PaperClay product
Apple Barrel black craft paint
Black and white ribbon
Miscellaneous punch pieces
Clear sheet
3D squares
Hot glue gut
Magnet for the back
For the magnet - I cut out the base with an Xacto knife using a scrapbook Halloween template. After allowing to dry and painting black, I added 3D squares around the entire edge, with punch pieces in the middle, and the clear plastic (left overs from stickers) on the top. I hot glued a piece of black ribbon around the edge, with a small piece of white on top, and a simple black bow at the top!!! The hardest part for me is cutting the piece out and fixing the little nick's that happen when you cut it out!
I hope you have enjoyed my projects today, I have decided I love to work with this clay, and can't wait to get more molds and paint! Enjoy all of the awesome projects that are posted, and check back often for more links!
