Guest Designer - Suzanne

Today we have Suzanne Y Pipitone as guest designer here at Memories in Tyme!  Suzanne is in my blog hop group - an amazing group of women who all hop with me twice a month!  The talent from this group is amazing and I am honored for them to be a part of Memories in Tyme.  Now, that said, here's Suzanne!!!   I am so excited that Lynda from Memories in Tyme has asked me to be a guest designer this month.  I am lucky to be in a group Lynda started to do blog hops once or twice a month.  I love working with Lynda and all the other talented ladies.  I hope you will join us for these great blog hops.   For my project I did a double page layout.  I saw a post on facebook with this quote and thought it was so adorable and perfect for a layout.   "Children are the rainbow of life.  Grandchildren are the pot of gold"   I used Mambi paper I got in a stack from Joann's.   I started with background cloud paper and ad...

Planning your projects -

When you start your projects - do you just jump on in and start creating - or do you painstakingly plan each of the projects that you make?  I do both - sometimes the inspiration starts with one part - and other times it starts with planning it all out!  As you do plan things out, it helps by making sure each decision doesn't affect any of the other ones!  If you start by asking these questions - you can make the perfect project each and every time!   Is the project for you - or someone else such as a gift?   Title - do you have a specific title in mind? Colors - do you have specific colors in mind? Photos - are they themed or not themed?   Paper - is there a specific paper line you want to use? Embellishments - do you have specific embellishments you want to use?   Sketch area - in order to sketch out idea.   Swatch area for color selection Shopping list area.      Some of my projects start with...

Card Stash - Challenge Wednesday

Do you have a stash of handmade cards you have made up before hand - either way, this post is for you!!!  If you don't - you will be challenged to make up a few before hand to save a bit of time when you need to send them out!  If you do have a stash, look at what you have made up and what is upcoming this next month and make up a few extra cards so you won't have to do it another time when it's less convenient for you!!        Look at what you have available to you - versus running out and spending money on cards you can't really afford.  Plus if you take a bit of extra time in making them up front, then you aren't running around at the most inopportune time trying to find a card for someone who means a lot to you!  So, take the time to see how many cards you have, and what you have made up.  What do you need to make for the upcoming few months - is there birthday's in your family, do you have any anniversaries, or jus...

NSBR - Gaming and AppGear

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of AppGear for SocialSpark . All opinions are 100% mine. AppGear  if you have people in your life that have smart phones and tablets - this is how the 21st Century gamers look!  It used to be the Playstation and games were all the rave, then it was online with other people, then it was goofy games on Facebook...and now AppGear! We have been used to WowWee (the company behind AppGear) because they are leaders in electronics and innovative toys for a long time, I am excited to see what they can bring to the digital market and the gaming world.   With AppGear you know you are getting a good game because they are one of the best names in electronics anyway - so it's only natural they would go into the digital gaming industry.   They have 2 new games out, Foam Fighters  is all about airplanes and going on missions.  The best part about this game is the airplane you attach to your phone, and then go to...

Challenge Monday results -

If you haven't seen the Monday challenge post this is connected to - make sure you go here  to see it!  I love the original idea, but of course I have to put a spin on the idea to make it into my own type of creations!  I am so excited to go and get frames for the initials I made for the challenge, some are for gifts - and some I am adding to something else to make a one of a kind gift!    Supplies needed: Scraps left over from other projects Alphabet template or die cut letters Embellishments of your choice Ruler and pencil from your toolbox Trimmer      I used what I have at home, I can't spend money right now.  With planning a move, I would rather use up all the stuff I can before I move it!!!  With the set of initials to the right - I started with the colors first from the scrap pile I have.  I used my CTMH alpha template to create the initials and added a bit of embellishments... When I get the fr...

Monday Challenge - Using Color

Take a look at this link  which is an article on Better Homes and Gardens about different types of colors that are being used right now in decorating your home.  The challenge for the week - is going to be using the colors mentioned in the article to create a layout, card or decorating item from the colors in the article...or show me your favorite set of colors to work with in your project!  This is one of my favorite color schemes, check out this card made recently from this color scheme!  I can't wait to see what I can end up making from some of the other fun schemes I found from this link!!!        So - make something using a different set of colors you have used before...either the link above...or by using your color wheel to find the perfect set of colors for your project!   Lynda Jeffs Memories in Tyme

Challenge Monday!!!

Today's challenge is a bit "unique" - but based on the above photo and the link here from Better Homes and Gardens crafts area!!!  I loved the "30 minute projects" found in the article, both with paper and with fabric too!  What an easy gift to do, as well as a great gift!!  I have a couple of birthday's coming up - and so...I am going to play with this idea!!!   So - for the challenge part - using the above picture as an example, create your initials or make a gift for someone using their initials!  I am planning a few of these that's for sure!!!   Lynda Jeffs Memories in Tyme

Spring Blog Hop - Day 1

Welcome to Memories in Tyme Blog Hop - where you will find all things relating to Spring!  This is my favorite time of year - the leaves are starting to come out - we've all been hibernating all winter in the cold...so now it's time to do some fun Spring projects!!!  You will be sure to find layouts, cards, decor and more with these seriously talented ladies...   Since you are at the beginning, lets get started with my project!!!     I started out making cards oh so long ago...I love going back to my beginnings and see what I can do with cards in today's market instead of 20 years ago!  My skills have taken off, and it doesn't take me too much time to make a fun card!  So, this weekend I am sharing some brand new Spring related cards you can make for anyone!   This card turned out so cute...and very simple too!  I love combining stamps with other type of things in order to make something that is truly one of a kind.  Both of thes...

Ad Challenge Monday -

I love taking a basic ad - and getting inspiration from it - in order to create the perfect layout!  With this one - I can see a lot of different things I like - first off - the squares on the bottom left corner with a bit of text and then other smaller squares!  That can be done in a bunch of different ways for sure!   I also like the simple title at the top - on white - you could use letter stickers, die cuts, or stamps to create the look here!!   Use a simple picture - maybe an 8.5 x 11 cut down a bit - and then add the embellishment and title to it!   Whatever your take is - make sure you share!    Lynda Jeffs Memories in Tyme

April -

Wow - Memories in Tyme blog has been around for 3 years now - starting out very small, and then just working up to what I am today!  Creating has kept me alive through a very high stress level - I believe THAT much in scrapbooking!  I love making scrapbooks, cards, altered stuff and gifts for my friends and family!  I would rather make them something for their birthday than I would buy them a present!  I recently started doing digital layouts - and can you say - LOVE IT!!!   There is a lot going on - if you haven't seen the new look on the web site - please go check out  Memories in Tyme  - the buying your own section is pretty much complete for those who would rather purchase a gift - just a few tweaks here and there!  The learning to create section is being worked on in my head right now - and is almost ready to get created!  I am one of those type of people who can envision something, and then create it afterwards!   The blog...
