So, you can see me sitting here with some of the scrap book material I "THOUGHT" I was going to use with the fun note cards that I received as a gift from my Daughter-in-laws Mom. GUESS WHAT......I DID! I decide...

Happy Anniversary - with a challenge!!!

This is me and my husband Del - my knight in shining armor, the man who has been by my side for 12 years now.  With us is my daughter and son from my first marriage...two of the best kids I know, in spite of me being their mom.  We have been married for 8 years now, one of the best things I could have done for myself.  Del was the one person who gave me the courage to be me - and the courage to start Memories in Tyme!  So, to celebrate us being together for the past 12 years, the challenge is for you to create a "he said/she said"  album of your own, with your husband!   Pick out two of your favorite photos, I placed them right after the title page - in number two and three page spot!  Everything else came after that...adding up to a 20 page mini album.  I added things like family/siblings, marriages, food, and other types of comparisons.  Yours can be what you want them to be, not necessarily what I have here - our situation was differe...

One of a kind gifts for mom

Mothers Day is right around the corner - why not spend some time making one of a kind - handmade cards for your mom this year!  This type of gift is great for those "moms" that might not be your own, or friends that are special and have done a lot for your, maybe someone at work that has been a "mother" to you...   For this pack, I made 4 cards, and then tied them with raffia to create the look shown.  The envelopes are inside the card to make it easier - and each of the cards have a blank space in between to be able to create your own type of saying, or hand write something for them directly.  Personalized handmade gifts like this do not take a lot of time, but they sure end up meaning a lot to those people who you end up giving things to!  Make things up ahead of time, instead of waiting until the last minute like I do!   I hope you enjoy your Mothers Day week - and that you make a lot of fun gifts for your gift recipients!   Lynda Jeffs Mem...

Mothers Day gift idea's

I love getting ideas for things that are easy to do - either for myself, or to make as a gift...  This idea was found on Better Homes and Gardens Mothers Day Photo gifts article  and I am telling you there are so many different things you can do with this and I can't wait to get started on one myself!  Make sure you check out the other fun things they have, some of them are really awesome - and truly one of a kind!  I love the fun patterned papers, the awesome frames with the embossing on them and the great colors!  This could be done in so many different ways - I can't wait to see what you all come up with!  Fathers Day is also coming up - don't tell me your dad, husband or brother wouldn't love something like this!   Make sure you share with me your fun creations you are making for gifts this year - it's not about the money spent but the moments shared when you make something for someone else!   Lynda Jeffs Memories in Tyme

Planning your projects -

When you start your projects - do you just jump on in and start creating - or do you painstakingly plan each of the projects that you make?  I do both - sometimes the inspiration starts with one part - and other times it starts with planning it all out!  As you do plan things out, it helps by making sure each decision doesn't affect any of the other ones!  If you start by asking these questions - you can make the perfect project each and every time!   Is the project for you - or someone else such as a gift?   Title - do you have a specific title in mind? Colors - do you have specific colors in mind? Photos - are they themed or not themed?   Paper - is there a specific paper line you want to use? Embellishments - do you have specific embellishments you want to use?   Sketch area - in order to sketch out idea.   Swatch area for color selection Shopping list area.      Some of my projects start with...

Card Stash - Challenge Wednesday

Do you have a stash of handmade cards you have made up before hand - either way, this post is for you!!!  If you don't - you will be challenged to make up a few before hand to save a bit of time when you need to send them out!  If you do have a stash, look at what you have made up and what is upcoming this next month and make up a few extra cards so you won't have to do it another time when it's less convenient for you!!        Look at what you have available to you - versus running out and spending money on cards you can't really afford.  Plus if you take a bit of extra time in making them up front, then you aren't running around at the most inopportune time trying to find a card for someone who means a lot to you!  So, take the time to see how many cards you have, and what you have made up.  What do you need to make for the upcoming few months - is there birthday's in your family, do you have any anniversaries, or jus...

NSBR - Gaming and AppGear

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of AppGear for SocialSpark . All opinions are 100% mine. AppGear  if you have people in your life that have smart phones and tablets - this is how the 21st Century gamers look!  It used to be the Playstation and games were all the rave, then it was online with other people, then it was goofy games on Facebook...and now AppGear! We have been used to WowWee (the company behind AppGear) because they are leaders in electronics and innovative toys for a long time, I am excited to see what they can bring to the digital market and the gaming world.   With AppGear you know you are getting a good game because they are one of the best names in electronics anyway - so it's only natural they would go into the digital gaming industry.   They have 2 new games out, Foam Fighters  is all about airplanes and going on missions.  The best part about this game is the airplane you attach to your phone, and then go to...

If you haven't seen the Monday challenge post this is connected to - make sure you go here  to see it!  I love the original idea, but of course I have to put a spin on the idea to make it into my own type of creations!  I am so excited to go and get frames for the initials I made for the challenge, some are for gifts - and some I am adding to something else to make a one of a kind gift!    Supplies needed: Scraps left over from other projects Alphabet template or die cut letters Embellishments of your choice Ruler and pencil from your toolbox Trimmer      I used what I have at home, I can't spend money right now.  With planning a move, I would rather use up all the stuff I can before I move it!!!  With the set of initials to the right - I started with the colors first from the scrap pile I have.  I used my CTMH alpha template to create the initials and added a bit of embellishments... When I get the fr...

Monday Challenge - Using Color

Take a look at this link  which is an article on Better Homes and Gardens about different types of colors that are being used right now in decorating your home.  The challenge for the week - is going to be using the colors mentioned in the article to create a layout, card or decorating item from the colors in the article...or show me your favorite set of colors to work with in your project!  This is one of my favorite color schemes, check out this card made recently from this color scheme!  I can't wait to see what I can end up making from some of the other fun schemes I found from this link!!!        So - make something using a different set of colors you have used before...either the link above...or by using your color wheel to find the perfect set of colors for your project!   Lynda Jeffs Memories in Tyme
