Struggling Through the Non-creative Times

I am a creative person - wake up with layouts and projects in my head from things I want to make...until lately.  Now, I just can't create for anything....there is way too much going on in my life, making it so that I can't create in the first place - which seriously - I don't need right now!  So, how do you struggle through those times in your life when you aren't as creative as you normally are?  Here are just a few tips that have helped me out:
  • Pinterest is a great place to start if you need some fun inspiration for all aspects of your life!  I have all kinds of different boards for scrapbooking, card making, decorating my house, colors I want to work with...you get the idea!  You can follow me by clicking on the link!
  • Magazines and idea books that you have, but you never actually use them - or go to the library to check out some fun books there if you are on a budget!  Make sure to check with your friends who live by you that scrapbook - to see if you can "check out" a few books of theirs!
  • Start to follow your favorite companies on Facebook or Twitter to get ideas when you want them - specials when they have them - new products coming out - how to use existing products....
  • Look back at all the ideas you have been keeping - and find one you have been wanting to do!  Make sure to put your own personal twist on what you find inspiration from!  I keep all my idea's alphabetized, so if I want to work on a specific theme or item, I can go to that letter - like t for titles - or a for alphabets!
Now, this post wouldn't be complete without a few challenges to help you get started - my day today is going to get inspiration - and work on a few things!
  1. Look at your magazines, idea books, internet blogs or web sites, or Pinterest... find one idea that you really like - get some sort of inspiration out of it to create something.
  2. If you have a list of things you have wanted or needed to do - find ONE thing - and look for the inspiration you need to get the project done.
  3. Look back on some of those ideas you have had - and find one idea that you want to create!
  4. If you have things that you have started, but not finished...now's the weekend to look at things and finish them up!
  5. If you do one "thing" all the time - such as layouts, or mini projects...do something totally different - like a page you will frame, or a card...or a paper craft project!
I have so many things I have started, but not finished...for whatever reason!  Either not enough time or - something in what I am doing just didn't "look" right.  I procrastinate...  A LOT...or I get in these little funks where I just don't want to do anything!  This is the one craft that always pulls me out of my little funks in life!  One I am so grateful to have!
Thanks for stopping by,
