Welcome to the Creative PaperClay Design Team's Valentines Link Up party!!! If you are just here at my blog - you will want to go to the main blog to get started checking out the whole design team's projects for today's hop!!! I had a lot of fun creating a few Valentines projects this month - and can't wait to give the gifts I have made to those I love the most! But it is the projects I made for this blog hop that have been a lot of fun to make! I created the two heart wreath's shown here using the Delight Air Modeling Compound! I am very happy with the final results!!! This is the first time I have used the Delight Air Modeling Compound, and really like how lightweight it is versus the clay! Plus for this project - I didn't need to paint it - I loved the basic white the creation has, so I didn't need to add any paint colors to it at all! This is a great beginners project, or something the kids could do!!!
Supplies needed:
Delight Air Modeling Compound
Creative PaperClay
Molds for the 3 flowers (purple)
Paint of your choice - 2 colors
Flowers with brads in the middle
Ribbon
Adhesive of your choice (I used a hot glue gun)
Directions:
Step one: Using the Delight compound, split it into thirds. Take one of the thirds and start to roll in to long round strip's. Repeat to create three rolled out strip's.
Step two: Take each of the strip's, and place them side by side and start to braid the strip's together while the compound hasn't set up. Create two sets of strip's to create the purple heart, or 1 strip for the pink heart.
Step three: Create your heart with the correct amount of strip's. The pink heart started at the bottom and ended at the bottom, creating the heart shape at the top using 1 braid. The purple heart has 2 strips, overlapping at the top and the bottom. Place it so it can dry, so a flat surface that is not going to disturb anyone or anything. Allow to air dry to keep the shape you want.
Step four: After the heart has dried, it will not dry together; you will need to take your adhesive and glue down the heart so it stays together.
Step five: Take your ribbon and start to wrap it around the heart - deciding where you want to create your bow. The purple one has a bow at the top, the pink one at the bottom!
Step six: Add your flowers to it - whether you mold them and paint them yourself, or you purchase flowers you can add to them!
I hope you have enjoyed my project for Valentines Day - and this Link Up party! Make sure you link your own projects up if you have any you have done, or go and purchase some clay this weekend and create!!!
