Scrapbooking the hard times....you don't think about it much at the time, but I will tell you how it helps the emotions of it all when you do scrapbook the hard times in your life, not just the fun happy moments!
In this layout, I lost my ex husband to suicide and my father 5 years to the day later. The "day" was 3 days after my birthday...8/5/99 and 8/5/04....these two events changed my life forever and made me realize that life does go on after a horrible time in your life. Scrapbooking helped to keep me alive, and helped me to realize that I have a knack for it too!
This layout was done in greens, and American Craft paper. I love the paper that have two sides to them, being able to use one side, and then the other to matt the photos with!
I used a soda pop top embossed in white for the "buckle"...and a bit of ribbon and brads to help bring a bit of color to the layout. The journaling was done by computer, using one sheet of cardstock to finish up the entire layout.
I am so glad now that I was able to scrapbook through the had times in my life. I hope to one day show my children the rough times, and what was able to bring me out of a rough depression. Scrapbooking does not have to be about the latest and greatest supplies...it is about the memories that go along with the pictures that truly make you see that you ARE ok, in spite of a horrible experience!
Thank you for visiting Memories in Tyme...I hope you like the new look of the blog!
