You have to understand my dad
to understand this layout. It is one of those type of things that you would have had to have known my dad to understand this layout.
Dad was old school, every penny counted in his book. He needed each and every penny he made, and worked hard to provide for us kids. It wasn't easy on my dad, and I see that now.
This picture was done before dad started getting sick, a few years after I moved back home to Utah. He passed away of Alzheimers disease, 3 days after my birthday...5 years to the day after my 2nd husband committed suicide... After he died, I would find pennies...at the times I was thinking of my dad. They were always shiny pennies, each one of them I kept and created this layout with! I remember one day exclusively, I had sat down a bag to go to work, filled with the things I needed for the day. When I placed down the bag, nothing was there...yet when I moved the bag, a shiny penny was underneath the bag.
I wanted you to see you could do with everyday photos and events. This layout was sparked because of pennies...and how I associate them with my dad...especially shiny pennies. My dad was not perfect...but he was my dad! I miss his voice, and the comfort I felt when he would hug me...just HUG me! At the times I am thinking of him, I find the pennies...these are the pennies I found along the way!
This layout can be done differently by changing the title, still keep the clear envelope to keep something special in. Use it for a birthday theme, or create into a 12 x 12 framed page, with special photos and embellishments in it! Scrapbooking is not just about the events...it's about the moments! This I have learned along the way! Out of all the pages I Iike to do, the moments are the funnest!
