Memories in Tyme

Hello everyone...thank you for being curious and reading this...   I started Memories in Tyme because of my passion for scrapbooking...anyone who knows me and talks to me personally can see that!  Anyone I have done work for personally can see the love and passion come out in each and every item I make.  I make each and every item that comes out of my home, and I do not copy from anyone.  I take that piece of paper and idea...and I create things that others like and enjoy.  Memories in Tyme has grown incredibly in the past few years, since moving to Colorado.  I had started things in Utah, and had made a few things for friends of mine, but coming out here to Colorado gave me the courage to fulfill my dreams.   I am not sure where the future will take me in this craft, but right now....I am making a name for myself in this industry, just by being the person I am, and the crafter that I am.  Should you ever have anyone email you, or cont...
Digital Scrapbooking.....up until 2 months ago, everything I did was paper, and I just KNEW I would never go to anything else.  Ok, I lied...I now love digital just as much if not more than paper scrapbooking!  Digital scrapbooking can be done in little time, download your software that you can use, look at free software as well as purchased kinds.  My favorite software by far is Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 software, which have kits you can purchase or they have free kits you can use.  The above layout was done with one of their free kits!  Colton and Dionna...Dionna is my "adopted daughter" and Colton is her son, my "adopted grandson"!  Del and I were invited to Coltons 1st birthday in March...we were there when he was little, lived across from him for 6 months until we moved!  This layout was simple to do, yet fun at the same time!  With digital elements you can find the perfect item that you have already downloaded with other kits!  ...

Get Well Cards

I love to make cards, any type of cards...  Get well cards are no exception!  In this example, I used Radiant Pearls and clear embossing powder for the bear, and a simple "get well soon" saying for the background.  With my cards, I use scraps to make it more cost effective.  Add a little bit of ribbon, buttons, or other embellishments to finish up the look. I might spend a day creating cards, or just a half an hour if I need to!  I try to make them as I am creating other things, but sometimes I just want to create a card or two. and put them in a stash of cards.  Find a box, add categories for cards you need and use a lot of, and then make up the cards to go in those categories.  Makes a great gift for that hard to please person, in their favorite colors and patterns.  Step one:  Decide the colors you want to use, I use a color wheel to make sure the colors match, find scraps of paper that will work for the theme you are working on.  ...

Pennies from Heaven

You have to understand my dad to understand this layout.  It is one of those type of things that you would have had to have known my dad to understand this layout.  Dad was old school, every penny counted in his book.  He needed each and every penny he made, and worked hard to provide for us kids.  It wasn't easy on my dad, and I see that now.  This picture was done before dad started getting sick, a few years after I moved back home to Utah.  He passed away of Alzheimers disease, 3 days after my birthday...5 years to the day after my 2nd husband committed suicide...  A fter he died, I would find pennies...at the times I was thinking of my dad.  They were always shiny pennies, each one of them I kept and created this layout with!   I remember one day exclusively, I had sat down a bag to go to work, filled with the things I needed for the day.   When I placed down the bag, nothing was there...yet when I moved the bag, a shi...
Scrapbooking the hard times....you don't think about it much at the time, but I will tell you how it helps the emotions of it all when you do scrapbook the hard times in your life, not just the fun happy moments!  In this layout, I lost my ex husband to suicide and my father 5 years to the day later.  The "day" was 3 days after my birthday...8/5/99 and 8/5/04....these two events changed my life forever and made me realize that life does go on after a horrible time in your life.  Scrapbooking helped to keep me alive, and helped me to realize that I have a knack for it too!  This layout was done in greens, and American Craft paper.  I love the paper that have two sides to them, being able to use one side, and then the other to matt the photos with!  I used a soda pop top embossed in white for the "buckle"...and a bit of ribbon and brads to help bring a bit of color to the layout.  The journaling was done by computer, using one sheet of cardstock to f...
