Altered Composition Notebook

Now that my hand has healed a bit, I can start to type and get a few posts ready to go with some of these fun things I had been creating prior to the "injury"!!!  However, the hand I always use was the one injured, so it has taken a few weeks to be able to use it AND type while I am at it, without being in tons of pain that is!  Posts will start back up, but not on an exact time or date!  Just bear with me as I work through my injury and getting it back to normal after that.        I made a really fun altered composition notebook and bookmarks right before my hand got broke.  I wanted to share how cute they all turned out, with photos and directions on how to complete the entire project!!!  I am in love with the colors and everything turned out!!!  This is the type of thing that can make an excellent gift for just about anyone, customizing    Supplies used: Colorbok Sweet Bloom 2 sided paper (2 sheets plus accent pape...

Weekend Challenge

My name should be Grace Well, good news, no surgery...just a cast for 4 more weeks while the fingers heal and it's a cute pink cast if you ask me!!!  I can now start to use 3 of my fingers on my hand, which means - that's all I need to create (which is a good thing since I started last night)!!!    However - that means I am still in pain while it all heals too, and can't use my smaller tools...but I can use my Cricut machine instead!!!  Since I have been working on a wall hanging piece for my mom... I started to cut out the pieces I wanted to use for the wall hanging  out on my Cricut machine!!!  I have 10 cartridges is all, which is nice because I can't make my mind up as it is when it comes to die cuts and what to use!!!  It also helps to be more limited on your choices for your creativity - what can you do with what you have versus running out and spending money on projects! So, since I am using my Cricut machine to get some projects f...

More Circut Ideas -

My path to owning my own Cricut machine - came really different than most of you!  I didn't scrapbook with anyone who had one, but ended up knowing enough about scrapbooking, computers and die cut machines to be able to demonstrate the Cricut machine and what it did!  I actually demonstrated the Cricut Cake machine.....and then the regular Cricut scrapbooking machine later on for a local Michael's Craft store.    After moving to Sacramento, CA - a wonderful friend of mine, sent me one of her old machines...I just had to get a power cord!  From that point - even after it was destroyed by a vindictive person...I was able to get a machine at a local pawn shop!!!  The best thing - it's actually a better model than the one I got for free, which I am happy for!!!  Since working with the machine for a while, I have a few beginner tips for you: You really TRULY don't need each and every cartridge out there known to mankind...  Look at w...

Embossing With Ink - Tips and Tricks (And a Sale Too)

Embossing, you can "emboss" two different ways - a dry emboss is with stencils and a stylus to have the image be more raised on the paper, and a wet emboss is with a special ink pad and powder to heat your stamped images to be a raised look.   Embossing this way 'simply put', helps your image to "pop" off the page and be more detailed.  The first step to embossing - you will need a few supplies on hand.  Keep in mind, I have had the same heat gun for at least 20 years now...so this purchase is very economical - and can be used for many different things (such as taking stickers off vehicles) LOL!!!!  You will go through more ink pads than you will heat guns - that is for sure!   Items you will need to add to your basic toolbox kit -  Heat tool - allows you to heat and emboss the stamped image Ink pad - needs to be a special type of pad, or Pigment ink at least Embossing powder - powder that when heated, is raised and hard on your page/proj...

Beautiful DIY Flowers From Bloominous

When it comes to an event you are planning, whether it is a wedding, or just a huge party with a lot of guests - you want your event to go perfect.  From the invitations you send out, down to the very last detail of the flowers, each and every detail not only affects the other decision, but it also can be very costly on top of it!  That is partially why I started Memories in Tyme - to create one of a kind invitations for clients - ON A BUDGET!   Yet, it was the GREAT website I found recently  that provides easy DIY floral arrangements kits  for weddings and events, and wanted to share it with you guys.  So many brides spend days researching the perfect wedding - and because they DO want it perfect, they turn to DIY to save costs.  But when you look at the process of  researching, purchasing, and arranging - the floral's often end up causing more stress and  dollars, just like creating the perfect event invitations.  Recognizing this...
