I needed a new composition notebook - and thanks to my post from yesterday, a bit of inspiration and a challenge to complete it since it had been on my mind all week!
Supplies used:
Composition notebook
Bazzill pink cardstock
Patterned paper from my stash
Colorbok White cardstock
Scraps of paper for the flowers
White ribbon (large and small)
KI Bakery Twine
KI Charms
Sizzix die cuts - flower #1, flower & stem, flower #6
Punches - sun, circle, circle flower
K&Comp stickers
Hot glue gun
Directions:
Step one: Cut the 12 x 12 cardstock and patterned paper in half, and then cut 1" off, making each piece 6 x 11". Set aside one of the patterned pieces, and fold the other piece in half.
Step two: Add the patterned paper to the composition notebook's spine, using your hot glue gun. Add the solid color so you have 1" left over to fold over to the inside cover. Make sure to put enough adhesive on the notebook, especially on the corners.
Step three: After you unfold the 3 folds you did, there will be a small box in each of the top and bottom corner - cut the corners off where the fold is so your corners are more flat. Using your glue gun - make sure you glue each of the sides down - doing the side last. Repeat for the other side.
Step four: If you are using ribbon - put your ribbon down (using your glue gun) on the inside top part of the composition notebook. Do not glue anything else down yet...
Step five: Take your twine (I used 3 different colors) starting at the top of the inside album (where the other ribbon is) and start to wrap it around the ribbon. After you have it the way you want it to look - glue the bottom inside of the ribbon and twine together on the bottom inside of the notebook.
Step six: Glue the ribbon to the notebook, then adding a bow made of ribbon and twine to the top part of the ribbon. On top of that - glue the charm.
Step seven: Start to add the stickers. I used 3 different stickers that had sayings in them such as Believe, Peace and Hope... Even though the stickers are "sticky" glue them down as well. This way the stickers won't come off and it is more durable.
Step seven: Create your flowers and add them to the notebook.
Step eight: Add a simple stamp or signature to the back of the notebook, showing YOU created it!
I will be making a fun bookmark with the supplies left over from this project today - I will be sharing it sometime later on, referring back to this post! so make sure to check back! I am sure I will end up with a few cards as well...all on one post! Paper crafting can be a lot of fun - not just doing "scrapbook's", but cards, bookmarks, mini albums, and altered stuff! I am working on a lot of things right now - or at least getting the inspiration finally that I have needed TO get things done!
**Tip - composition notebooks are on sale right now for CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP... Go to any of your local office supply places and you should be able to find them easily!**
