My sister Allison means the world to me! As a little girl, I idolized her - she was the one who danced just like a princess - and me, I danced just like a 6 legged cow! We haven't always been this close, honestly it has only been in the past 3 years or so that we have gotten along, and I am so thankful for her and her husband's influence on me! She is the one person I can truly count on to say it like it is and to help me to heal and see things for what they are! So, for her birthday this year (August 12), I made her a magnet, and a vertical paper bag album - idea shown here! She hasn't seen them yet, or at least not in person anyway! I get to see her in a few weeks, and I can't wait to see her face when she gets it!
Supplies I used for this project:
K&Company paper pack (floral design)
White, red and yellow cardstock
Sizzix die cuts - vine, flowers
Various flower punches
Rub-on's
Trimmer
Scissors
Hot Glue gun and adhesive
Glue stick
Black ink pad
6 Paper Lunch Bags
Creative PaperClay
Scrapbook alpha templates
Flower mold
Radiant pearls paint
I started with the papers for the inside pages first, and then created the album cover with what was left over. I also added Creative PaperClay letters and flowers to the front cover with her name and flowers, painting the pieces with Radiant Pearls paint! On the right side I used a Sizzix die cut for the vine and flower, along with a few other punch pieces to finish up the look for the cover! On the back of the cover, I added my "designed by" and "Lynda" stamps that are always on the back of my creations!
For the inside cover and first set of pages, I wanted to have the cascading photo's put at the very front, with the pages starting from there! Each of the front pieces flip up to give you more photos, writing, or whatever you would want to add! It just gives you a lot more room to put things in! As you flip open each page, you will get more places for journaling, pictures, and tags to add thoughts or whatever to! Each set of pages are created the same - yet a bit different by the way I used the embellishments too!
By far this is the most favorite style of album I have done - and can't wait to get my own done! I am working on a few designs for Christmas related albums, and can't wait to get them started and out of my head! I hope you enjoyed the entire project today!
