Challenges - Not Your Everyday "Layout" Challenge

The past month has just flown by for me...  My husband is now out of school, and at a new job in a new city!  Funny how we have lived 4 states in the past 6 years, and have totally loved it - I really wouldn't change anything except turn back the hands of time if I could!  We have seen more than we thought we would, struggled harder than we should have, and fought just to stay alive!  But at the end of it all, we have done it all honestly, without anyone giving us anything (except hassle) to get here.  There are two projects I am starting to plan and work on - a bit more "special" than just throwing together an album.  These two projects will take some time - and planning - in order to get the perfect album made! If you are just starting out with creating, by taking the time to plan the little details out - it makes the project go that much smoother because you have taken the time to think about things first.   Project #1:  I didn't document t...

Monthly Reminder Post - (a bit late)

This month - I am a bit late in my reminder's...but being in temporary housing has made it so I have not been able to create, therefore - I don't need to remind!  However, I figured it would be a good thing for others, and gives me an idea as to what I need to take care of when we are in a place!  That is the fun part - finding a place and getting a life going and then getting all my stuff out of storage!   So, start looking at the next 6 weeks, which brings you to the end of July.  What events do you have coming up -  parties, BBQ's, birthday's, anniversaries, or anything else that you need to make, purchase, or bake for?   Start to write down your list - looking at the different things you need to get done.  If you have a birthday and you need to make cards for - then make the layouts while you are at it.  That way you can simply add your photos to it when you have them ready!   You might also want to check out your tentative l...

Creative Paperclay Tips

I am all for cheap and recycled, and today's idea is all about THAT!  I have found that I like to keep things in one place when it comes to my clay.  I don't like to have to go here and there and everywhere just to make something.  I like to have it handy!  My husband and I had went to Jack in the Box and purchased a salad one night...and recycle it I did!   I started to add all my little things in that I needed for my clay - so when I went someplace, I could work on something while I was waiting.  Everything is in one place instead of all over the place!  And the container was free, with plenty of room for me to put my clay, a few baggies, my tools, and my molds.  Each container holds enough of the things I need to work on - and as I eat more salads, I get to use up the container!   Great way to keep everything in one place, dust free - and easily taken with me if I am going to an appointment!   Using things like this ...

Life and the Pursuit of.............

A little over a year ago my husband, son and I moved from Denver, Colorado to West Sacramento, California to send my husband to school.  Being in temporary housing has made it so that I have not created much...  THAT is all about ready to change!  All of our hard work and struggles has started to pay off, and it's not just "talk".  I find myself being able to let go of situations I have needed to - and concentrate on what Lynda wants for me and my business!   I am excited - and after this last little bit of the struggling I can start to look at what I have wanted to do - and that is create!  So - the blog and web site will be looked at a bit more, spending time on them now, instead of other things.  I can't wait to really start to play with some of the fun things I have planned out, with the design team I am on, for selling, and for gifts!  The planning can begin - thoughts now out of my head - and others starting to flow behind!  I haven't ...

Vertical Paper Bag Album Cover - Creative Paperclay Design Team Project

My first love was card making - buying every stamp I could from 1990 until I moved back home.  I think at one time I counted and I had over $6000 worth of stamp sets easily!  Over the years I learned I only needed a few that could do the trick!  This was in Colorado - then I moved back home in 1997 to Salt Lake City Utah...Scrapbooking heaven!  Where the magazines are at, or a lot of them anyway...  A lot of the manufacturers are there - and sales... oh you have no idea when they have their warehouse sales the stuff you leave with!!!  I have recently started working with clay products - and to say I am hooked is an understatement!  Also being in temporary quarters for just a bit longer - makes it so I can't do a lot of the fun things I have planned for you until we actually are in our own place!!!   This project is a vertical paper bag album, with this for the cover!  I used Creative Paperclay product and a mold I have...
